(ENGLISH BELOW)

368 Seiten, Format 240 x 280mm.

13 June 1970, the Porsche spaceship 917 with the two astronauts Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood take off from the French spaceport Le Mans for a 24-hour space flight around the clock. The start is a little bumpy, but the racing ship, painted in red/white, gets going and after 24 hours on June 14, 1970, it brings the stars from the sky for the engineers of the Porsche 917.

It would almost have been like this if Norbert Singer, who had just finished his aerospace studies, had chosen space instead of the supernatural ones from Porsche. Well, the story went a little bit differently for Porsche and Norbert Singer, who was responsible for the cooling of the car during the first Le Mans victory for Porsche. Porsche and Singer stayed on the ground but the stars and the successes they both collected together on the race tracks of the world are almost as countless as the stars in the night sky. This story is now richly illustrated from the beginning in a book from Sportfahrer Verlag under the title “Norbert Singer – Porsche Racing 1970-2004”. On 368 pages, Norbert Singer, together with the well-known author Wilfried Müller, recounts his time with and at Porsche. In 16 chapters, about his beginnings at Porsche, the adventure with the Porsche 917, the 935, Porsche 936 up to the Group C Porsche 956/962 and the GT1, everything is presented from the point of view of the leading engineer. The individual chapters are supported exclusively by historical photographic material, some of which is published in a book for the first time. The importance Norbert Singer had in Porsche and in motorsport is already evident in the two forewords by Jacky Ickx and Jochen Mass.

14.06.1970 the race is over, Porsche wins Le Mans for the first time, but the story only really begins with it, also and because of Norbert Singer. And this story can be read in this book. The book is available at Sportfahrer-Verlag www.sportfahrer-zentrale.com – norbert-singer-porsche-rennsport-1970-2004. The English version is in work.

368 pages, format 240 x 280mm.
