SPA CLASSIC 2019

The Porsche Carrera RSR from the 70s is today an extremely rare model on the racetracks. Even rarer are models of the Porsche 917 or the Group C cars type 962. But once a year these Porsche and many more come together at the Spa Classics to race against each other again. Pure history can be experienced at the Spa Classics. As a spectator you rarely get so close to the racing cars and/or the racing drivers. And some of the racing drivers know the track and the racing cars like the Porsche Carrera RSR still from his active time as a professional. So does Porsche racing legend Jürgen Barth, who is on the fast track with the sky blue Porsche Carrera RSR 3.0. In the training as well as in the qualification everything still went well, but shortly before the start of the race the two front brakes on the RSR block and Jürgen Barth comes with the full power of spinning rear wheels just into the pits. This race is over, but the next one is already around the corner…

Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo 1952-1982 – All Porsche

Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo 1952 – 1982 – Alle Porsche

„3. Gang, voll, 50 Kurve, Bremsen, leicht rechts, 180 Grad, 2 Gang, Achtung Heck kommt, voll….“

Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo 1952-1982 – All Porsche

“3rd gear, full, 50 turn, brakes, light right, 180 degrees, 2 gear, attention rear coming, full…”

You can practically feel every turn, every hairpin turn, every bend and every drift of a Porsche while reading the monumental work, about the Porsche rally cars that took part in the Monte Carlo Rally. For better weight distribution, some Porsche always had a sandbag with them during the rally. As a replacement for a sandbag, the two-volume book “Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo 1952 – 1982 – Alle Porsche”, published by Dingwort Verlag, is a perfect choice. But in the trunk, the more than 900 pages of Porsche knowledge are far too sad. No, it’s actually the perfect road book for the Monte Carlo Rally, a must for every Porsche library and every automobile fan. A must for all historians and rally enthusiasts.

A special stage at the Monte can go on for hours and this book can be used to read hours of the far-reaching history of the Stuttgart sports car company. Not only the factory assignments but also the many private teams are explained in detail in the three languages German, English and French. Tables and many small details, meticulously researched, are important to win this historic rally. Tables and details are also important in the book and complement this work perfectly.

The spectators shovel snow onto the roads around the tracks in the Principality of Monaco. They want to see the cars drifting, feel the motorsport. When you look at the 384 colour and 535 black-and-white illustrations, you’re standing by the road and literally screaming at the Porsche in the book, wanting to drive them on and give applause after every page. The victory goes to this work by the two authors Patrick Dasse, Maurice Louche. After the race, the two books will go back into their slipcases and will be retrieved in time for next year’s Monte Carlo Rally at the beginning of January.

FIRE & ICE 2019

FIRE & ICE 2019

In times of fine dust problems in our cities, we are all looking for healthy and clean air. The Alps are a perfect retreat for all those who are tired of fine dust. Now the fine dust has arrived everywhere in the meantime, also in the Austrian mountains, but here it is a very special kind of completely safe ice fine dust…

The GP ICE Race 2019 in Zell am See. An ice race that has history and already writes history again with its first new edition. So also the numerous participants, be it the drivers and/or the racing cars, were steeped in history enough. VW, Skoda, Porsche, Audi, they were all there and brought real treasures from the museums and archives with them to the icy race track in the old airport of Zell am See. Hans Joachim Stuck, Walter Röhrl, numerous Porsche racing drivers, rally legends, etc. gave themselves the steering wheel into the hand. Nobody wanted to miss the chance to race a real racing car over the ice.

In the morning in the paddock. Not every car wanted to set any mechanical part in the engine compartment in motion at -14 degrees. But once the viscous oil had started to move, there was no stopping. It almost seemed as if the pilots had to rein in their horses, which were already quite wild on the ice bar and perfectly prepared runway. This was definitely the impression the buggy drivers made with their Kunter colourful play and fun machines. Whether old or new, there was something for each of the numerous visitors this weekend. Pure history and perfectly organised.

The race track is surrounded by numerous ski slopes. With the best snow this weekend was simply perfect for the skiers. Some of the skiers went with their skis directly from the piste to the ice piste. Skijöring, the sport known in the Alps where a skier lets himself be pulled by a horse with a rope, was taken to extremes in the GP ICE Race 2019. Not a horse but herds of horses in the form of a Subaru, Skoda or Porsche 911 in almost all designs and years of construction are the “driving force” for the daring and very fast skiers. It takes your breath away when the pros rush past you at full speed. But if you don’t close your mouth fast enough, you’ll quickly taste a full load of the delicious ice fine dust…

We want more, much more of this kind of fine dust. See you at GP ICE Race 2020!

More than a museum,
more than one exhibition,
more than 70 years of Porsche.

Autoworld in Brussels shows 70 years of Porsche. The Autoword Museum in Brussels celebrates the history of Porsche with a special exhibition on the history and numerous exhibits. The visitors are greeted in the museum by an original Porsche 356 police car, but at Christmas time another Porsche 356 in the classic Nicolaus red full of gifts welcomes the visitors to the exhibition. But if the anniversary exhibition is not already a gift to all visitors, the gallery is full of “Zuffenhausen” chocolates. In addition to the complete series of all Porsche road sports cars ever built, you can marvel at numerous racing cars from almost every decade. The paint shines at Christmas time. As if it were about the price of the most beautiful car, almost 70 proud Porsche cars stand in a row in the large and impressive hall of the Autoword in Brussels and present themselves in the most beautiful splendour. 550 Spyker, Porsche 911 R, GT1, 959, 968CS, 928, GT3, Turbo, 935 K3, 919, RSR and RS, as well as the Porsche 917/021 and the Porsche 917/10-002, the series of the cars is long and together with the “normal” exhibition one comes to almost 70 Porsche. A successful and worthy exhibition on the anniversary and history of Porsche. Absolutely worth seeing!

The Porsche 917, the beast of Porsche …

The Monza Historic 2017. Along with two of the legendary Porsche 917 racing cars from the year 1970. With the number 917-025 Peter Vögele drives with the beautiful beast around the fast course. A racing beast that was used in the racing team Zitro Racing Cars in 1970 and is still very fast back in its original painting. On the road, Peter Vögele was not only in the 917 but also in a Porsche RSK 718-60 Spyker from 1960.

The beasts of the group C were also a gripping race with the ex-Porsche factory driver Ralf Kellners in the Porsche 962c from the year 10990. Together with the Mercedes-Benz C11 (the Schumacher / Wendlinger race car), it went round after lap at full throttle To the leadership, the Kellners finally decided for themselves. Victory Porsche in Monza, victory for Porsche at the Monza Historic 2017.
