Die Altstadt von Maastricht überrascht mit kleinen Strassen, mit vielen exklusiven Shops und mit viel Charme. Man kann Stundenlang durch die Gassen laufen und entdeckt hinter jeder Ecke, in jeder Gasse immer wieder etwas neues oder altes. So ist es auch auf der Interclassic Maastricht.
Mitten in der Altstadt eine der skurrilsten Buchhandlungen. in einer umgebauten Kirche findet der Buchliebhaber alles was sein Herz und Verstand braucht. Alles ausser Bücher über Autos.
Dafür gibt es aber die InterClassic. Hier gibt es nicht nur in jeder Gasse Klassische Automobile aus fast allen Jahrzehnten zu entdecken sondern auch viele gute Händler für gute Automobilbücher.
In jeder Gasse gibt es etwas zu entdecken, dabei natürlich auch viele Porsche. Angefangen von Gmünd Modellen bis hin zu fast neuen Porsche entdeckt man fast alle Strassenmodelle aus Stuttgart. Dabei scheint das ein oder andere Modell wie zum Beispiel der Porsche 928 so langsam aus seiner Nebendarsteller Rolle zu kommen. Die Preise und die Qualität, sind dabei genauso vielfältig und unterschiedlich wie die Gassen in der Altstadt von Maastricht. Warten wir es ab wie die Preise sich dieses Jahr für den 911er, 944 und auch den Boxster entwickeln. Polierte Karossen strahlen mit Scheunen-Funden auf der Messe um die Wette. Die Besucher schieben sich durch die kleinen Gassen, die einem die vorgestellten Autos lassen. Sie bücken sich unter die Autos und schauen genau hin. Das spricht für die Messe und deren fachkundiges Publikum. Klein, aber fein die InterClassic und Maastricht.

The old town of Maastricht surprises with small streets, many exclusive shops and a lot of charm. You can walk for hours through the alleys and discover something new or old around every corner, in every alley. This is also the case on the Interclassic Maastricht.
In the middle of the old town one of the most bizarre bookstores. In a converted church the book lover finds everything his heart and mind needs, only no books about cars.
But there is the InterClassic. Here there are not only in every alley classic automobiles from almost all decades to discover but also many good dealers for good automobile books.
In every alley there is something to discover, and of course many Porsche. Starting from Gmünd models up to almost new Porsche one discovers nearly all street models from Stuttgart. And one or the other model, for example the Porsche 928, seems to slowly come out of its role as a supporting actor. The prices and the quality are as varied as the alleys in the old town of Maastricht. Let’s wait and see how the prices develop this year for the 911, 944 and also the Boxster. Polished bodies are competing with barn finds at the fair. The visitors push their way through the small alleys, which are left by the presented cars. They bend down under the cars and take a close look. That speaks for the fair and its expert audience. The InterClassic and Maastricht are small but fine.

Mit dem Einzug der Turbo-Aufladung in den serienmäßigen Sportwagenbau bewies die noch junge Firma Porsche ihren Mut und ihre Innovationskraft. Der außerordentliche Erfolg des 911 Turbo trug mit zum legendären Ruf der Sportwagenmarke bei. Neben den Serienfahrzeugen geht das Buch auch intensiv auf Sonderserien, wie die zehn 930 Turbo S für Sonauto, das 964 Turbo Cabriolet, das 993 Turbo Cabriolet, oder die 911 Turbo „Package Cars“ aus 1994 ein, deren Existenz bis zum heutigen Tage kaum jemand kennt. Das Buch entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem historischen Archiv der Porsche AG und zeigt bisher unveröffentlichte Fotografien. Abgerundet wird dieses Werk durch einen ausführlichen Statistikteil, den der international anerkannten Porsche Experte Norbert Franz exklusiv erstellt hat. Somit können erstmalig die detaillierten Stückzahlen aller produzierten 911 Turbos veröffentlicht werden. Weiterhin werden erstmals alle Fahrgestellnummern von original werksleistungsgesteigerten Fahrzeugen dokumentiert. Das Buch erscheint in einer streng limitierten Auflage von weltweit 2015 Exemplaren.

In the spring of 1975, the first Porsche 911 Turbo took pride of place in the showrooms of the Porsche dealerships. Not quite 40 years later, the car that changed the world has become a legend. “40” – Porsche 911 Turbo – Aircooled Years” tells the story of this iconic sports car, starting with the prototype first unveiled at the IAA 1973 and culminating with the last air-cooled 993 Turbo released in model year 1998. With the introduction of turbocharging into the series production of sports cars the young Porsche company provided ample proof of its courage and innovative daring. The extraordinary success of the 911 Turbo contributed to the legendary reputation of the sports car brand. In addition to the series-production vehicles, the book deals in detail with special series, such as the ten 930 Turbo S vehicles produced for Sonauto, the 964 Turbo Cabriolet, the 993 Turbo Cabriolet and the 911 Turbo “package cars” from 1994, whose existence is known only to a few even today. The book was written in close collaboration with the historical archive of Porsche AG and shows previously unpublished photographs of Porsche 911 Turbo Nr.1, which was driven by the daughter of Ferdinand Porsche, Louise Piech.
Internationally recognized Porsche expert Norbert Franz has created a detailed statistics section. For instance, it is now possible for the first time to publish the exact quantities of all the 911 Turbos ever produced, and, furthermore, all the chassis numbers of the original performance-enhanced vehicles (911 Turbo WLS) are documented for the very first time. Es ist eines der seltensten Modelle der 911-RS-Baureihe, die je gebaut wurden. Nur 55 Exemplare des Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8 wurden 1993 in Weissach in Handarbeit komplettiert, weitere 49 Rennversionen vom Typ 964 Carrera RSR 3.8 entstanden zeitgleich in denselben Werkstätten der Porsche-Kundensportabteilung in Handarbeit. Einen leichten Start hatte der erfolgreiche RS-Nachfolger aber keineswegs.

Anfang der 90er Jahre stand Porsche kurz vor dem Aus. Fahrzeuge verkauften sich schlecht und auch die werksseitigen Motorsportaktivitäten waren, zumindest auf internationaler Ebene, nahezu zum Erliegen gekommen. Nach dem Vorbild erfolgreicher GT-Fahrzeuge der 70er Jahre stellten Kundensportleiter Jürgen Barth und der spätere Projektleiter Roland Kussmaul ein Lastenheft für einen neuen Sportwagen auf 911-Basis zusammen. Die Idee des 964 Carrera RSR 3.8 war geboren, und damit erstmals seit langem wieder eine Basis vorhanden, um bezahlbaren Kundensport auf internationalem Niveau anbieten zu können.
Die Fahrzeuge passten in die Reglements des ADAC GT Cups, großer internationaler 24h-Rennen wie am Nürburgring, in Spa Francorchamps und in Le Mans, sowie weiterer großer Langstreckenrennen rund um den Globus. Auf Anhieb gewann der RSR 1993 das GT-Klassement in Le Mans sowie das Gesamtklassement der 24-Stunden von Spa und am Nürburgring.

Dieses umfassende Buch beleuchtet die gesamte Entwicklungsgeschichte der Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8 und RSR 3.8. Es enthält Informationen zu den Vorserienfahrzeugen, zur Renngeschichte der RSR 3.8 und die gesamten Auslieferungsdaten aller 107 gebauten Exemplare. Zeitgenössische Presse-Meldungen, Typisierungs-Unterlagen und Homologationsblätter komplettieren das Standardwerk zum 964 Carrera RS 3.8.

It is one of the rarest 911 RS models ever built. In 1993, just 55 Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8s were completed by hand in Weissach, with a further 49 racing versions – the 964 Carrera RSR 3.8 – built by hand simultaneously in the customer sports department. However, the 2.7 RS’s successor didn’t have an easy start to its life.
 
In the early 1990s Porsche was on the brink. Sales were bad, and the factory motor racing programme practically came to a halt, at least in international terms. Following the example set by the successful GT cars from the 1970s, head of the customer sports department Jürgen Barth and project head Roland Kussmaul put together a concept for a new sports car based on the 911. The idea for the 964 Carrera RSR 3.8 was born, and with it came the first opportunity in a long time for an affordable customer sports programme at an international level.
 
The cars were built to regulations that fit with the ADAC GT Cup, as well as the world’s big 24-hour races such as the Nürburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, and Le Mans (among many more). From the word go the RSR was a winner, with victories in the GT class at Le Mans and outright at the Spa and Nürburgring 24s in 1993.
 
This comprehensive book examines the history of the Porsche 964 Carrera RS 3.8 and RSR 3.8 in detail. It contains information about the development, the racing history, and the configuration data on all 107 cars that were ultimately built. There is also contemporary press releases, documentation and homologation sheets, making it the standard reference on the 964 Carrera RS 3.8 and RSR 3.8.
